Chatsworth House & Gardens
Chatsworth has been home to the Devonshire family since the 1550s. There are over 30 rooms open to the public for you to discover the history of this grand stately home.
After exploring the interior there are also 105 acres of garden for you to take in, as well as a farmyard and play area for children.

The Monsal Trail
The Monsal trail is a great way to spend a day for the whole family, the trail runs for 8.5 miles from Bakewell to Chee Dale and is on the grounds of an old railway track. The trail passes through 6 tunnels and over the river Wye on the iconic viaduct. It is perfect for all ages and abilities to take in views of the Peak District.
There is also a cycle hire shop located at Hassop Station for those who wish to explore on two wheels.
Mam Tor & Castleton
Also known as the Shivering Mountain, Mam Tor shadows the village of Castleton, the views over the Peak District from the top are breathtaking, It is pretty accessible for all.
The village of Castleton itself is well worth exploring with plenty of cafes and pubs to fuel you after a long day spent walking.
You could also check out Peveril castle which was built in 1176, it is now just ruins but it is still worth the climb to the top.

Matlock Bath
Matlock Bath is located just outside the Peak District and resembles a traditional English seaside resort. There are fish & chip shops and arcades a plenty. It is also popular with motorbike enthusiasts who meet here every Sunday.
If you are visiting with children there is also Gulliver's Kingdom theme park which is a fun day out for the family.
Another one on the bucket list whilst here is the Heights of Abraham cable cars, the journey takes you over 554ft upwards to the summit, 1000ft above sea level. The views from the top are amazing and there are also caverns to explore.

Eyam Plague Village
In the 1600s an outbreak of bubonic plague forced the village of Eyam to isolate itself from the rest of the world, this stopped the spread to neighbouring villages saving many lives. On a visit to Eyam, you will find lots of history of this event and other information.
There are also lots of picturesque walks from the village and a few cafes and pubs to enjoy a break.
